Looking Out, Looking In May 2025

Looking Out, Looking In brings together Victoria Atkins, a longtime Coolum resident, and her daughter Hailey Atkins, now based in Brisbane. Victoria’s prints and sculptures playfully capture the
shifting coastal landscape, reflecting both the region’s beauty and her own joyful approach to making.
Hailey’s work, in contrast, embraces abstraction, using material experimentation to explore ambiguity and open interpretation. Her sculptures begin as introspective studies, avoiding direct
representation in favor of form and curiosity.
Exhibited together for the first time, their works highlight both contrast and connection—one grounded in observation, the other in abstraction—united by a shared engagement with process,
transformation, and play.
