the accidental meeting place was the community seat identified by sharyn kerrigan in the art, urban+place report for coolum in 2009. the closure of IGA in 2011 created the opportunity for the seat to be refurbished and shifted to the shop on the esplanade where its same function - a random generator of rest and exchange for the public is still performed.
